1. DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET

What could be more disappointing than falling in love with a property only to realize that the price is beyond your budget? Defining your budget is essential to avoid wasting time and disappointment. Don’t hesitate to contact a financial advisor or mortgage broker, who can help you paint a realistic picture of your situation and assess your borrowing capacity. That way, you’ll know how much your financial institution can lend you based on your annual income, credit rating and other information you’ve provided.

That said, building a prefabricated home offers many advantages and excellent value for money. The reason? The purchasing power of materials and control over factory manufacturing conditions. Of course, aspects of a home, such as surface area, layout and choice of materials, will have an impact on the final price. Nevertheless, you’ll have an idea of how much leeway you have to transform your dream into a reality without having to sacrifice your other life projects.

2. ASSESS YOUR NEEDS

Even before scheduling your first meeting with our team, assessing your current needs and determining how they might evolve is important. In addition to your lifestyle, your considerations could include, such things as :

  • Location
  • Type of home
  • Living area
  • The number of rooms
  • Layout

Whether you are looking for a two‑storey house, bungalow or cottage, once you’ve thought about it, it will be much easier to select a few plans during an initial meeting with our team.

Whether it’s based on one of our models or a hand‑drawn sketch, it doesn’t matter! 6. START CONSTRUCTION

You’ve finally reached the actual construction stage. Once you’ve carefully chosen the plot you want to build on and paid close attention to every finishing detail, it’s time to bring your project to life!

To do this, you’ll need to apply for permits from the city or municipality where you’ll be living and obtain home insurance. Then, you’ll need to call in a surveyor to assess the site for your new home, who will issue a mandatory site plan for all new buildings. Once these steps have been completed, you can start excavating and building the foundations of your future home.
