Personal Information Protection Policy (PIPP)

The ProFab Group inc. (ProFab), whose head office is located at 294 rue Laurier, St‑Apollinaire, QC G0S 2E0, is a manufacturer of modular housing.

At ProFab, respecting everyone’s privacy is important. We take the protection and confidentiality of your personal information very seriously.

 

The objective of our personal information protection policy (PIPP):

 

Our policy aims, for the utmost transparency, to inform you of the nature and seriousness of our commitments. This way, you will be able to better assess the situation and decide whether or not you consent to sharing your personal information.

In the Personal Information Protection Policy (hereinafter PIPP), we clarify our data collection practices and list the reasons why we must collect, use and share this data. We also specify the measures by which we ensure the protection of your personal information.

 

Your consent to the collection of your personal information:

 

We will always obtain your consent before collecting, using and sharing your personal information. By giving your consent, you authorize ProFab to collect, use and share personal information about you, in order to serve you on a daily basis and comply with our legal obligations. This consent to the collection, use and sharing of your personal information is mandatory for doing business with us and takes precedence over any other consent signed in the past. It remains valid as long as you have a business relationship with any division of ProFab.

 

What we collect and how:

 

ProFab limits its collection of personal information to a minimum. Thus, only information essential to a legal contractual agreement and necessary for good communication with you in order to serve you as best as possible is collected. This information is identification information only. It is collected on the one hand via our website when requesting information, making an online quote request or registering for the referral program. It is also collected by our home advisors via email, telephone or in person during the process of purchasing a new home.

Some of your personal information is shared with our material suppliers for identification, delivery of products and services, and warranty purposes.

Your personal information is also shared with our employees and subcontractors for foundation, carpentry, plumbing, electricity or other specialties for the purpose of identification and delivery of products and services.

It is possible that your information will be shared outside of Quebec in the case of suppliers who obtain their supplies outside the province.

 

Measures to protect your data:

 

ProFab put in place rigorous protocols to protect all its data. Here are the measures that have been and/or are taken to ensure the protection of your data

  • An external analysis of our technological security measures was completed and a continuous improvement plan is in place;
  • Internal training for all employees on the importance of data protection;
  • Double authentication for access to the IT system and ProFab network;
  • Access controlled by levels, divisions, groups or by employee depending on the need for access;
  • An up‑to‑date response plan in place in the event of a data protection breach.

 

How do we obtain your consent:

 

By transacting with ProFab and signing the consent form or checking the box that you accept our confidentiality policy, you agree that your information will be processed in accordance with the law and according to our PIPP policy.

 

Access to your data and their rectification:

 

You can access the personal information we have on file at any time. If you wish to correct inaccurate or incomplete information that we hold, you must contact the person responsible for the protection of personal information at [email protected].

 

Withdrawal of your consent to communicate or use the information collected:

 

You have the right to withdraw your consent or to request the removal of all your personal information from ProFab’s records at any time. When requested, we will send you all the information required to explain the repercussions of such a decision. In some cases, it will not be possible to withdraw this consent due to legal or contractual requirements. To do so, you must contact the person responsible for the protection of personal information at [email protected].

 

How long do we keep your data:

 

Your personal information is kept for the period required by law and/or for the duration of your limited warranty with ProFab which lasts 1, 3 or 5 years depending on the item under warranty. Also, given that certain products from manufacturers included in the construction of your home can be warranted for up to 25 years, we will keep your data for this period if applicable.

Changes to the personal information protection policy.

 

We may periodically make changes to our policy. The ProFab website will always contain the most recent version of the policy including the last date a change was made.
