Satisfied customer August 2010

My partner and I are both 56 years old and about to retire, which for us means 'Freedom!''

As true baby boomers, we want only the best, and we have several exciting trips planned. But we've also found a little piece of paradise out in the country where we hoped to enjoy our golden years. The only thing left to do was build a house there. Of course we soon realized this would be easier said than done.

We visited Pro-Fab for the first time in early March. For weeks, we had spent our free time visiting a variety of prefabricated home manufacturers to get an idea of our various options: from ''kits'' that had to be fully assembled to ''shells'' where only the outside is complete, and so on. But we always came to the same conclusion: none of these options would save us much money.

So the first day we visited Pro-Fab, we met the sales manager, Mr. Jean-Yves Dugrenier. It was late in the day, but he still took the time to describe the Pro-Fab vision, gave us a few fliers to look through at home when we had the time, and suggested that we make an appointment for the following Saturday to talk about our project, assess our needs, and (of course) come up with a budget.

We agreed right away, because we were so impressed that he hadn't pounced on us like a vulture at the first sign of fresh meat–like many of your competitors had.

We met with Mr. Dugrenier early in the day to take advantage of the morning peace and quiet. Everything went great. He respected our decisions and was very professional, asking all the right questions until he came up with a project that was perfect for us.

A few days later, we contacted Mr. Dugrenier to tell him we had accepted his offer. Why? Well, we were amazed by the quality of the highly energy efficient home that would make us eligible for a $1,500 rebate through Hydro-Québec's Novo Climat program. But beyond that, we knew we could count on solid advice and guidance from a professional as we built our beautiful future home.

Then, on August 11, we had our first visit to the Pro-Fab plant in Vallée Jonction. Surprise! When we arrived, there was a reserved parking space with our name on it waiting for us! This was just the first of many pleasant surprises that day. The first person to greet us was the architectural technician, Alain Nadeau, who handled the modifications wanted to make to the construction plans. He was very efficient, and we received the newly modified plans about an hour later.

We then met with designer Barbara Cloutier and decorator Jessica Nadeau. Once again, we were very impressed with how pleasant and courteous they were. Knowing that we really needed to stick to our budget but still wanted a lovely home, they pooled their expertise and suggested beautiful cupboards, handles, counters, floor coverings, and more—without going over our budget. Plus, they suggested tons of inexpensive little things to add warmth and style to every room. Their advice really helped liven up our home! Every time we met with them, we walked away feeling like we had bought the biggest unit available and had gotten the full V.I.P. treatment.

When lunchtime came around, we were given a gift certificate to eat at a lovely little inn nearby. What a treat!

Once all the decisions were made, we were able to spend the afternoon visiting the plant. To tell you the truth, the main reason I went was to make my partner happy, but I actually really enjoyed seeing people working with such precision and efficiency. The plant was clean, and everything was in the right place. We walked through every module that goes into a house under construction, guided by a plant manager who provided clear and detailed explanations. Of course, our tour boosted our confidence even more. Plans for the house being built were clearly posted in every section and we got to see with our own eyes how well thought out and professional the whole process is.

We finished up around 4 p.m. and we headed back to Montreal even happier with our choice now that we knew our home would also get the same top-notch treatment when the time came! We really felt like we had put our most important project in the hands of professionals who cared as much about the quality of their work as they did about meeting our needs.

Now, we can't wait to see our new home finally nestled in the little wooded area we are preparing for it in St-Calixte come spring 2011!

We want to wholeheartedly thank your entire team for their invaluable support!

Sincerely,

Lucie Raymond and Jacques Pagé
